Remembering Man Hater
Two world titles. The two highest bull scores ever recorded, and a share of the third. A look back at what the record shows about Man Hater, who died on March 8, 2026.
Man Hater died on March 8, 2026, after being injured in the championship round at PBR Little Rock, PBR reported. He was the 2024 and 2025 World Champion Bull. This site is built on the record, so this is a tribute in numbers — and his numbers are extraordinary.
The top of the scoreboard
Only two outs in the entire recorded history of the sport have scored 49 points or more. Both were Man Hater's. Only four have reached 48.75 — and three of those are his.
| Rank | Bull | Score | Date | Event | Rider | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Man Hater | 49.50 | Sep 7, 2024 | PBR Teams · Kansas City | Sage Steele Kimzey | Buckoff |
| 2 | Man Hater | 49.25 | Sep 27, 2024 | PBR Teams · Fort Worth | Cassio Dias | Ridden — 98.25 |
| T-3 | Man Hater | 48.75 | Jul 13, 2024 | PBR Teams · Oklahoma City | Casey Roberts | Buckoff |
| T-3 | Woopaa | 48.75 | Nov 7, 2021 | PBR World Finals | Jose Vitor Leme | Ridden — 98.75 |
All three of his came in a single summer — PBR Teams games between July and September 2024 — the stretch in which he took the top of the scoreboard for himself.
Back-to-back world titles
He won the title in 2024 and again in 2025. In his second title season, eleven of his twelve premier-series outs scored 45 points or more.
| Season | Premier outs | Buckoff rate | 45+ outs | Season avg | Championship avg |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 11 | 72.7% | 9 | 45.84 | 46.20 |
| 2025 | 12 | 75.0% | 11 | 46.17 | 46.53 |
Before either title, he topped the 2023 PBR Teams bull standings, and he finished second in that race in both 2024 and 2025.
The riders who rode him
Across 73 recorded outs, riders made the whistle on Man Hater 11 times — an 85% buckoff rate — and he scored 45 or better on 36 of those outs. The rides he did allow were some of the best of those riders' careers. Four riders posted the highest ride score of their recorded careers on his back:
| Rider | Ride score | Date | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cassio Dias | 98.25 | Sep 27, 2024 | the second-highest ride score in the record |
| Andrew Alvidrez | 94.00 | Mar 2, 2025 | PBR Milwaukee |
| Alan de Souza | 92.50 | May 11, 2025 | PBR World Finals |
| Marco Rizzo | 90.25 | Dec 20, 2025 | PBR Chicago |
Cassio Dias's 98.25 came on the same night Man Hater was marked 49.25, the second-highest bull score ever recorded. Only Jose Vitor Leme's 98.75 on Woopaa at the 2021 World Finals ranks higher among ride scores.
The climb
His first recorded out came in August 2021 on the Velocity Tour. In 2022 he was bucking on the Challenger Series; by 2023 he was a premier-series regular and the top bull in the Teams race. Two world titles followed. In 2026 he bucked off his last five riders, his final out coming in the championship round at Little Rock in March.
PBR's data lists his program as Jane Clark and Gene Owen, and PBR's memorial tells the story of the people behind him, including JW and LeAnn Hart of Hart Cattle, who cared for him.
His full career — every out, every rider, every score — stays on Man Hater's page. The scoreboard he left will be hard to reach.
Method: all figures are from PBR Data API ride records as of the September 21, 2026 sync. "Premier outs" are Unleash The Beast outs; the championship average is the average PBR uses to decide the title. Rider career bests are the highest ride score each rider has in the recorded data. The circumstances of his death, his ownership, and his care are as reported by PBR.
